Length: 9 min 41 sec

This is not really a workout in the traditional sense of the word, but you will definitely feel your abs working. The chest lift and the chest drop (which are, as I just learned, two separate moves) take a lot of core strength and control, so practicing them will really work your abs and back.
Leilah really works hard to explain how to do it and what the differences are, but it’s still not easy because it requires a solid core. Her explanation is easy to understand, but I’m still not 100% sure I was doing it right…sort of felt like I was just doing chest isolations. Maybe they’re the same thing? Either way, it was fun to stand in front of a mirror and watch my belly bop around.
If you want to learn some of the basics of belly dance in a little more detail, this is a great video to try!
