This is a really fun dance routine! Dancehall, from what my white butt can tell, is a Jamaican style of dance, often to a kind reggae music. It’s a lot of body rolling and booty shaking, which is a ton of fun!
As far as a workout goes, this routine is decent cardio, but since I’m not a great dancer, I didn’t really get a super good workout out of it. I tried, but my moves don’t go as far as Keaira’s do, so I don’t feel like I work as hard as she does during this workout.
It’s a pretty low impact workout, too, which might also be one reason why I didn’t sweat as much. One move involves jumping, which is why this workout is labeled as “high impact”, but you can easily substitute the jumps for steps or taps to make it low impact and apartment friendly.
One thing I don’t like about this video is the fat that she talks a lot before starting the cooldown, which is kind of annoying because I don’t want my muscles to cool before I actually get to the stretching part. Save it for after!
Otherwise, this is an awesome, fun video, and you’ll probably get a better workout than I do if you’re a better dancer than I am!
